About Tangela
Finding an educational partner can be a daunting task. I hope that after this introduction, you feel a bit more at ease.
I teach.....I AM A TEACHER! It is not just what I do. Teaching is who I am. Yes, teaching is a skill, but great teaching is more of an art!
From pre-algebra to SAT prep, my approach is always the same, to teach in a way that recognizes the individuality of my student. I am patient and quite methodical in my technique. I firmly believe that students are not drones and perform at their best when given a safe space to engage.
My background in Chemical Engineering has given me a very broad knowledge base. It enhances my ability to demonstrate the power of mathematical reasoning. Math is not just a series of formulas and equations to be memorized; math is to be applied.
I produce consistent and exceptional results by first believing in my students even before they believe in themselves. My primary focus is on building a strong comprehensive skill set. I do not teach to a test. I teach to promote critical thinking. And I encourage my students to embrace a willingness to be challenged every day.

Mathematics is a language. I pay particular attention to making sure that each of my students speak the language well.
All lessons emphasize reasoning with algebraic, geometric and trigonometric principles. Each session is taught with the understanding that students are not drones. It is so important to meet them where they are, and then be able to take them where they wish to go. Every student has a personal journey; and each journey has a distinct trajectory.
Curating their comprehensive skill set is the most impactful part of a student's journey. I have chosen to include all levels of mathematics, from pre-algebra to calculus. This inclusive schedule allows me to both introduce and reinforce concepts from middle-school through university/college. Each course is another step to proficiency.
