About Patrick Benitez, PEng
Patrick Benitez is currently employed as a Taekwondo Instructor at the YMCA Bostwick Location. With over 20 years of martial arts experience, Patrick is well-versed in Taekwon-Do and Seikido, and experienced in several other styles including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Boxing, and Muay Thai. His extensive training also includes five years in the Canadian Army and over 10 years of instructing both adults and children, resulting in a profound understanding and appreciation for martial arts and teaching across all demographics. Patrick holds a 5th Dan black belt and Instructor certification in Seikido, a martial art derived from ITF Taekwondo and traditional Aikido, designed for practical street self-defense. Additionally, he is a 3rd Dan black belt in Taekwondo, certified by World Taekwondo (Kukkiwon). Throughout his Seikido training, Patrick has mastered and taught various self-defense techniques, emphasizing effectiveness against stronger, uncooperative opponents. He has also participated in numerous open martial art tournaments and seminars, gaining valuable experience in both sport and in psychological conditioning by responding to attacks from unfamiliar opponents. This diverse background has equipped Patrick with the skills and insights necessary to teach and inspire his students in martial arts.

Upon our discussion and your desire, lesson breakdowns could include:
Drills/warm ups, calisthenics
Breathing, meditation, focused exercises
Patterns, step sparring, real time sparring
Fundamentals of kicking, blocking, moving
Self Defence - Grappling, weapons, pins, throws, and small joint manipulations.
Rolling, knee walking, break-falls and mat work.
Cost of training rate and travel fee may vary.
