About Vilizar
I’m Vilizar, a jazz guitarist with a deep passion for teaching and improvisation. I studied at the National Academy of Music in Sofia, the Giuseppe Tartini Conservatory in Trieste, and the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. I have had the opportunity to study with great guitarists such as Hristo Vitchev, Tsvetan Nedyalkov, Daniele Cordisco, Fabio Zeppetella, and Riccardo Chiarion, and I attended masterclasses with Pasquale Grasso. With over five years of experience as a jazz guitarist, I have played in various groups and recorded two albums. My latest project is a Hammond organ trio with Pietro Caroleo, one of the finest organists in Italy. I’m interested in both traditional jazz, like Wes Montgomery and Barney Kessel, and modern styles, such as Jonathan Kreisberg and Pat Metheny. I am passionate about helping students grow musically, develop their own voice, and enjoy the journey of learning jazz guitar.

My lessons are focused on building a solid foundation in jazz guitar while helping each student develop their own musical identity. We work step by step, combining theory, technique, ear training, and practical playing.
Harmony
Chord types, voicings, inversions, and voice leading. Understanding chord changes, different approaches to comping, and modal harmony.
Technique
Developing clean, relaxed, and efficient technique essential for jazz guitar.
Improvisation
Learning scales, arpeggios, intervals, and complete fretboard knowledge to improvise with confidence on any progression.
Jazz Repertoire
Building a strong jazz repertoire through essential jazz standards and preparing effectively for jam sessions.
Jazz Language
Exploring bebop vocabulary, straight-ahead phrasing, and modern concepts to develop an authentic and personal sound.
Rhythm
Understanding swing feel, rhythmic variations, time feel, and comping patterns.
Jazz Styles
Studying different jazz contexts: swing, bossa nova, Latin, modal, and modern approaches.
Practice Routine
Organizing a clear, effective, and personalized practice routine tailored to your goals.
