About Violet
I’ve taught guitar for over 7 years and hold a Bachelor of Music in Studio Music and Jazz, Guitar Principal. I work with Electric, Acoustic, Classical, and Bass Guitar, focusing on film scoring and video game music. Lessons cover atmospheric textures, thematic development, and sound design. Students learn to work with digital audio workstations (DAWs) to integrate their guitar into media projects. My teaching approach is student-centered, designed for youth and adult learners. Lessons include melody, harmony, rhythm, tone, and expressive phrasing. Students practice creating layered arrangements and integrating guitar with other instruments. I guide them in composing motifs, cues, and musical textures. Creativity, experimentation, and problem-solving are emphasized. Each session is hands-on, practical, and focused on real-world skills. Students develop confidence in both composing and performing music for visual media. Lessons explore blending guitar with electronic and orchestral elements. Exercises strengthen musical ear, timing, and expressive range. I encourage students to bring imagination and storytelling into their playing. Students learn stylistic interpretation for different cinematic genres. Lessons are dynamic, engaging, and tailored to each student’s goals. I focus on nurturing both technical mastery and creative expression. My ultimate aim is to help students bring cinematic and gaming worlds to life with their guitar.

I teach guitar with a focus on ear training and aural development. Lessons cover interval recognition, melodic dictation, and transcribing songs. I work with The Campfire Strummer and The Blues Seeker to provide exercises suited to their goals. Students practice identifying melodies, chords, and rhythmic patterns. I combine listening exercises with hands-on guitar practice. Lessons include singing exercises, call-and-response, and improvisation. I emphasize recognizing harmonic progressions and melodic structures in songs. Each lesson is customized to match skill level and learning pace. Exercises reinforce interval recognition, chord identification, and phrasing. I encourage students to transcribe songs and analyze musical patterns. Consistent practice is essential to developing strong aural skills. Students also learn to apply these skills in improvisation and composition. Feedback is given to improve accuracy and musical understanding. Lessons are interactive, engaging, and practical. Students develop confidence in picking out melodies and harmonies by ear. Exercises focus on tone, pitch, and rhythmic perception. I provide tools to strengthen musical memory and recognition. Lessons integrate theory, listening, and practical application. The goal is to unlock musical understanding and improve overall musicianship.
