About William
I am a Professional Engineer, semi-retired. I have worked in industry for the major part of my career. I did spend one semester teaching Engineering Technology at a Technical College. As well I mentored my two children in their studies (both completed Degree programs subsequently).

My teaching methods would vary somewhat depending on the student. Typically, if a student is working on a specific problem and having difficulty, I would inquire how the student is approaching the problem. I do believe that it is important that the student bang his (or her) head against the wall (so to speak) for a period of time before being guided as to how I would solve it. Doing so makes the student "own" the solution and I believe it will stick in the student's head.
I am familiar and have worked with various cultures, my own children are Aboriginal Canadians.
