About Hania
I am a qualified and experienced English/EAL teacher. I have a double degree of Bachelor of Teaching/Arts from Deakin University, where I majored in Applied Linguistics and TESOL Curriculum Study, and therefore I specialize in teaching English as an Additional/Foreign Language (EAL/EFL) to students at various levels. I have been tutoring English/EAL since I was an Education Student (pre-service teacher) at uni. Thus I have had an extensive experience in teaching as well as tutoring students of diverse cultural and learning backgrounds within various academic settings and institutions.

My teaching methodology is rooted in the belief that in a classroom, learning is rather fluid than linear, hence in a way everyone is a learner, including the teacher. I often tend to centre my lessons on student-centred teaching strategies, such as Socrative circles and Socrative questioning, that are often student-led. This methodology is inspired by Vygotsky’s pedagogical theory of Social Constructivism as I find it useful in teaching English and Humanities to many students who are not native English speakers.
