About Laura
More than 20 years ago, I left behind a career as an aeronautical engineer for the adventure of traveling the world as an aerial acrobat. I settled in the Cevennes 12 years ago and although I continue to perform, I decided to share my native language with English students in my region in 2018. My experience as a teacher comes from English classes I give at home, three years of circus teaching at the National Circus School in Montreal, Canada and two years as a private tutor in physics and mathematics when I was a student at McGill University in Montreal. I also give hula hoop lessons for adults and children and I will give hula hoop lessons in English in September! I am a mother of two children and while traveling with my children for my acrobatic work, I homeschool them so they keep up with their school work. My kids are bilingual and I teach them reading and writing in English at home outside school hours.

I use a playful method based on games and conversation. I prefer listening to the language first to recognize his "music" and then I work the oral. As soon as possible I encourage free and creative expression and I create each course tailored to the interests of my students. I use games or situations that allow the student to move and use his whole body to learn. Studies show that body movement stimulates the brain and makes learning more efficient. More than it's fun, more than we want to learn! I pass not only a language but a passion for learning and developing its own strategies for success.

Laura est une personne optimiste qui m'a tout de suite mise en confiance. Sa façon d'enseigner et de transmettre ne donne pas l'effet d'un cours traditionnel. C'est un apprentissage ludique qui m'a permis d'apprendre et de retenir plus vite qu'avec un cours "normal".
