About Abbey
Hi there, my name is Abbey and I'm a Y12 aspiring dental student! I want to teach because my teachers' saw potential in me that I didn't. I used to feel overwhelmed by challenging questions, but through my teachers' support and guidance, I learned to face my fears and tackle difficult problems later. It motivated me to push harder when I knew I had a support network and could see the improvement. I want other students to feel that too because that ultimately means students are being pushed to their ability and beyond! Without them, it wouldn't have been possible to achieve an 8 in GCSE Maths considering I was stuck on a 4 throughout the whole year.

Having progressed from a grade 4 to a grade 8 in GCSE Maths, I know exactly what it feels like to look at a difficult problem and want to give up. My teaching methodology focuses heavily on building confidence, breaking down complex multi-step questions into smaller bits and creating a supportive environment where making mistakes is just part of learning.
A typical lesson would look like:
