I have lived in LONDON for 20 years but I have my second home in Spain
My level of English is NATIVE. online classes only.
Since I can remember I have been a fan of the English language! I received my first degree in English from the Colombo-American Institute in Armenia, (Colombia) with the distinction of having achieved the second best grade in the entire institute. After finally learning the language of my dreams, what followed was to leave Colombia to practice it. So I did it! Wherever I went, knowing English, I always had job opportunities. English is the best tool wherever you go ...... my English skills took me to Aruba, Switzerland and finally to England.
Already based permanently in London for 20 years, my English is as good as my Spanish. Then I had the experience of living in Spain where my teaching career started.
In my new residence there was a shortage of English teachers who could help with tutoring, practice conversation or prepare for Cambridge exams. So I acquired my TEFL Certificate in London and the TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) Module 1 from Cambridge and I continue to alternate my online classes with my professional development.
For two years I was part of the team of teachers at THE ART OF ENGLISH SCHOOL, teaching at all levels and at all ages. This academy provided me with invaluable experience in relation to materials, methodology and the importance of motivating the student to achieve their goals.
Currently I have online students in Spain and I would very much like to connect with the Latin and Hispanic community here, and teach and learn with lovely people.

The session is developed by learning in context and with examples, immersing the student in the topic in a way that makes it interesting for them and focuses their attention, while in casual conversation the student lets me know what they know or remember about the topic.
We proceed to explain or review the theory without taking too much time, because the practice will be the one that helps the student more than the theory.
So we continue with the practice and different exercises and ending with reproducing what we learned with less help.
I prepare my Lesson Plan, always starting with an entertaining and interesting conversation related to the topic of the class. I use lots of pictures, to practice vocabulary and develop improvisational skills and fluency in English. I have a lot of didactic material, but I prefer not to concentrate on a single textbook, but to mix it with other resources focused on vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, use of the language, etc.
I really like to include relevant games and fun and interesting quizzes and always end the class with a conversation derived from the topic. It is always a good idea to reinforce learning with exercises after class but I understand that many do not have time available for these activities.
My methodology is based on the principles of PPP (Presentation, Practice, Production) and it is a fact that it is one of the most logical and effective ways to develop a class.
Starting with examples and exercises, continuing with practice and ending with reproducing what was learned with less help. The way I do my classes always depends on the student.
I prepare my Lesson Plan, always starting with a pleasant and interesting conversation related to the topic of the class.
