About David
Hello, student. I'm David. It's a pleasure to welcome you to my profile. I'm Brazilian, living in Bahia.
I am an internationally certified English teacher, Portuguese teacher for foreigners, philosopher and executive coach. I have taught Brazilian students from different states, as well as foreign students from different countries, such as the United States, Mexico, Canada, England, Scotland, France, Spain, Lithuania, Taiwan, Japan, etc.
As someone who has learned English, Spanish and Hebrew on my own, I know very well how important it is to study with a teacher who understands your needs, interests and profile, adapting the classes to them. Just as there is no magic formula for learning a new language, I also know that there is no single method that works for everyone, which is why I like to build my classes with my students, through observation, dialogue and practice, always seeking to create a comfortable, light and, above all, effective environment for learning the language.
I have been teaching Portuguese to foreigners for 6 years and English for 5, which allows me to understand the different needs that people have, whether it is learning the language from scratch, "unlocking" when speaking, etc. In addition, I am an executive coach, which gives me the necessary knowledge to help those who need Portuguese for business, meetings... the corporate environment in general.

Before describing how the classes work, I recommend that you watch my video at the end of the page so that you can get to know my Brazilian Portuguese ;).
As stated, my classes are tailored to your profile and needs. Do you want to learn from scratch or do you want to practice your conversation skills? Do you prefer a course-style course, with the use of books? Is your focus general or business/work-related? It doesn't matter! I can help you!
In the first case, we use books, as well as extra materials in PDF format, accompanied by audio, videos, texts, etc., so that we can practice the subject studied in different ways, that is, we study something and, in addition to doing common exercises, we watch videos in which it is used in given contexts, we listen to audio and music, we write, etc.?
On the other hand, if you prefer conversation classes to hone your skills, we do the following: in each class, we talk about a different topic. Here, it doesn't matter if you want to talk about everything (in this case, we talk about culture, politics, life, psychology, hobbies, work, etc.), or if you prefer to focus on a specific area (we still talk about subtopics related to it). Anyway, in any case, we discuss different topics in each class, with the help of slides, videos, podcasts, games, music and other resources. Basically, what I aim to do is create dynamic classes that allow you to expand your language skills, as well as challenge you to think about different things in Portuguese, breaking down your fears and barriers.
Furthermore, in all cases, we can work on the phonetic part, which refers to pronunciation, aiming to make your pronunciation clearer and reduce your accent, if that is your goal. Keep in mind that you will learn the Brazilian accent with my direct mentoring.
That's it, my dear student. When you contact me, I will explain everything in more detail, as well as ask about your Portuguese, goals, etc., so we can have a free first trial class, usually lasting one hour, which will allow you to get to know my methods in practice and see if they are what you are looking for.
Regarding formalization and payment issues, here are the points: we signed a service provision contract; I can issue invoices [receipts] (I have a CNPJ); payment is made in the form of a monthly fee on the 5th of each month, referring to classes that will be held until the 5th of the following month.

I have been taking lessons from David for 3 years now and all I can say is that I really love them. I've taken my Portuguese skills to the next level. At the beginning, I used to lack confidence and spoke a "broken" Portuguese. This is all gone now. I can talk to my Brazilian colleagues clearly and understand them very well.
