About Katherina
Hey! My name is Katherina Maldonado, but you can call me Kat for short. I have worked with students of all ages from elementary to high school levels. From Math to English, I have helped students develop an understanding by breaking down topics in an easy way to understand. Each student is different, so I enjoy forming goals one-on-one with the student and developing my lesson plans around them. Tutoring is extremely rewarding and I enjoy seeing all of my students succeed in the subjects that they are having difficulty with. I look forward to meeting you and embarking on this educational journey toward success.

I typically focus on coaching my students, rather than just giving them the correct answers. I try to help my students develop critical thinking skills by asking the correct questions and through demonstrations. I also am aware that each student is different in regard to their learning style, so I adjust my lessons to fit my student's learning styles and goals. For my lesson plans, I like to break them down and inform the student of the objectives, so that they know what to expect throughout the lesson. I tend to adjust each lesson plan for each student to meet their goals and develop the proper skills on the subject that they are struggling with. I am extremely passionate about teaching and I care for the students that I teach. I want them to succeed in whatever subject they are struggling with. It is my goal to ensure that when students work with me, they learn the material that they are struggling with, but also develop skills they may need in the future to work through difficult topics on their own. I primarily work with middle to high-school-aged students, but I am willing to work with younger students as well.
