About Ava
I am a pre-medical graduate of Duke University, where I studied Biology with a focus on neurobiology and minored in Chemistry and Chinese Language. I will be attending medical school in the fall of this year and have worked in research laboratories in North Carolina and California during my gap years.

As a graduate of Duke University with a STEM background, I have plenty of experience teaching and learning difficult topics to feel confident for exams, but also in preparation for standardized tests like the MCAT, SAT, ACT, and SSAT. I personalize my approach to simplify challenging concepts in a way that resonates with each student - regardless of your learning style (auditory, visual, or kinesthetic). I aim to make students feel confident in their knowledge, but also in their test taking strategies so that our lessons can be applied to subjects outside of STEM. I would love to tutor students in high school, college, or anyone interested in STEM, psychology, English, or Mandarin!
