About Edmund
I have recently completed 5 A levels in Maths and Sciences at Exeter Maths School and hold an offer of a place at UCL to study Biochemistry. I previously obtained 15 GCSE level qualifications (11 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s, 1 A* and 1 A (both the highest grades possible).
I have decided to defer my University entry to 2023 and am looking to spend the coming year getting experience as a lab technician, developing my tutoring skills, and travelling. I would be delighted to help you with your studies during this period.

My approach to teaching involves helping students learn and apply effective and simple methods to the problems they find challenging and also ensuring they grasp the logic that informs them.
Although I do not yet have much experience of tutoring (I have just finished A levels in Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics), I am good at explaining things, friendly, enthusiastic, patient and approachable. I have regularly helped others, including my younger brothers, and feel that I have developed useful skills.
I find that key to tutoring is listening carefully to the student, to figure out their particular ways of thinking and learning styles and adapting my teaching to their needs.
I also ensure that I prepare specific materials for each lesson, tailored to the particular requirements of each individual student. I am also experienced in the challenges of online learning and best ways of keeping the student focused and engaged, such as through the use of shared whiteboards.
