In addition I learned a lot about their cultures and language. After arriving from South-Africa in 1998 I had the privilege to be taught by New Zealand teachers how to speak and communicate in English. Now, after being teaching in English in New Zealand for 23 years I am retiring at age 66. Therefore, I want to work for English Language Partners New Zealand to give back to New Zealand by helping others to speak English.
I have found great reward in experiencing how foreign people slowly started to find confidence how to communicate, read and write in English. In addition I learned a lot about their cultures and language. I have always been passionate about teaching and learning and now, in my retirement years with the time it allows me to help others would be a real blessing to me.
During the last 23 years I have worked with many foreign students from many different countries and I found all the students and their families being appreciative of all my efforts to help them to communicate at school. Having spent a lifetime working with people on a very wide range of human activities I believe I can spend both my experience and academic achievements more effectively by helping other people in the society that we live in today. I am passionate about guiding and helping others finding a way to analyse where they are and where they want to be and how to have quality lives and to be successful.
