About Thea
Teaching piano is simply what keeps me grounded after years of performance. When I sit at the bench, chord voicing and rhythm and timing are the foundations I build upon. You can expect focused work on ear training and pop or contemporary styles.
13 years have taught me that clear posture and hand position are vital for growth. Jazz improvisation and memorization techniques are also parts of the process. I enjoy seeing students connect with the instrument in ways that feel very real to them.

Progress that you can hear defines the atmosphere during our time at the piano. 10 years of consistent results show that a focus on fundamentals creates the best music.
I use a practical approach that stems from my time at the New England Conservatory to keep things straightforward. You will work on technical accuracy while maintaining a relaxed mindset during our hour together. Weekly practice modules assigned with every class ensure your technique remains sharp between our meetings. Please let me know if you would like to start working on your favorite pieces soon.
