About Phil
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at ANU, studying the relationship between black holes and galaxies. I completed my secondary school studies in the UK, achieving `A' grades in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, before doing a 4-year physics Masters at the University of Oxford (2:1), and an astrophysics PhD at the University of Hertfordshire. I have taught undergraduate classes at ANU, and given less formal help to friends over the years.
I am happy to tutor school students of all ages, as well as undergraduates in the physical sciences.

My approach is to teach topics thoroughly and fully to give my students a deeper understanding of the subject that they might get from school. I find that such a 'from first principles' approach leads to better overall understanding, confidence, and appreciation for the subject.
