About Arko
Hello! I'm a recent physics graduate with a Math minor from the University of Wisconsin Madison currently in the process of grad school admissions for a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Sustainable Systems. I love what I study and am very passionate about helping out people in the same boat. I have had an extensive background in Math and Physics along with tutoring experience for students K-5 through High-school. Teaching in the past, I really enjoyed helping students navigate Math problems and build confidence. It was very satisfying to see them grasp concepts and feel more comfortable with problems. Math and Physics can be quite tricky sometimes but so is Mario Kart, can't stop driving and it's super fun when you finally get a hang of it!

I believe in smart and efficient practice paired with effective discussion in order to navigate problems and concepts. That being said every student is different and one of my strengths and favorite aspects of this job is to improvise and adapt as needed. I am flexible with long term and short term goals be it an upcoming test or a final exam. I am also a strong believer in a dynamic course structure that evolves with and around the student. I like to implement visualization, effective Q/A and a whole lot of set examples to help communicate concepts and understand problems better. A typical lesson plan would involve a quick summary of problems and ideas to be discussed, initial questions to gauge a starting point, 15-20 minutes of topic depth with example problems leading into 10-15 minutes of practice problems and finally concluding with discussion and rectifying errors. I am focused mainly on all levels of Math and Physics through high-school including AP classes.
