About Jess
I'm currently a university student studying Maths and Physics at the University of York. I really enjoy problem solving and experimenting which has led me to the STEM field. I'm a very active and sociable person outside of my work and school, I enjoy basketball and rock climbing in my free time.

I give private lessons to children of all backgrounds and needs. I tailor the formatting of the lessons depending on the student. If the student struggles with focusing for long periods of time, I am happy to implement breaks as and when necessary. I tend to start by going through past paper questions to find the topics that the student struggles with most and then I will work with the student on their understanding of those trickier topics. I implement many styles of teaching, making sure that the way I am teaching fits the student's needs for an optimal outcome. Over the last couple of years that I have been tutoring, I've developed multiple methods for most maths topics meaning that if the conventional way of working out doesn't work for them, I can teach other methods until one sticks (making sure to stick within the curriculum).
