About William
I am an outgoing and confident young man who enjoys working with others. I know first hand the struggles and stresses of secondary school and exams and as a result will try my best to create a friendly and encouraging atmosphere in our sessions.
One of the biggest challenges at GCSE and A-Level is learning how to answer questions in the exam. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, students spend most of their time in school studying the course content, and spend little actually focussing on the exam. In our lessons we will not only aim to fill any gaps in understanding or knowledge, but also try to master exam technique. I can also help with revision techniques and last minute exam preparation.
Outside of academic life, I am interested in Rugby, American Football and current affairs. I also play guitar and write a blog in my spare time.

Hi, my name is Will and I'm currently studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics (BA) at Durham University. I have just finished my first year of study and gained a first in my end of year exams.
Before university I studied at St Albans School in Hertfordshire and gained 11 A*s at GCSE. At A Level I gained A*s in Maths, Politics, Economics and EPQ as well as an A in AS Further Maths.
Having previously been tutored myself I know it can be strange to start studying outside of school with a new face. That is why I think it's important to encourage a friendly, informal and productive atmosphere.
At GCSE and A-Level, the key to success is mastering exam technique. Hence, my lessons will focus not just on course material, but also on how to answer questions in a way that maximises marks.
My lessons will usually start with a warm up problem or question before revising the course content.
After going over content or explaining methodology we will go on to practicing past papers, specifically focussing on answer structure and clarity.
Lessons can last anywhere between thirty and ninety minutes - though at least 45 minutes would be preferable as it will allow us to cover more in our lessons.
