My teaching method makes literature accessible, engaging, and relevant to students. I use interactive discussions to encourage open dialogue and develop critical thinking. We delve deeply into texts through close reading, analyzing language, structure, themes, and characters. I provide historical, cultural, and biographical contexts to enrich understanding, and incorporate creative assignments like writing alternative endings and creating character diaries to make learning fun. Lessons are tailored to individual needs, focusing on areas for improvement or interest.
A typical lesson includes a 5-minute warm-up, a 10-minute introduction to the topic, 20 minutes of close reading and analysis, and a 15-minute interactive activity. We wrap up with a summary, questions, and homework assignments.
What sets me apart is my passion for literature and my goal to inspire the same enthusiasm in my students. By making literature relatable and exciting through creative assignments and contextual learning, I ensure students are both challenged and supported. I focus on developing critical thinking and analytical skills.
My lessons are for high school and college students, from introductory to advanced levels, ideal for those in English Literature, Comparative Literature, and Creative Writing courses, as well as those preparing for exams or needing help with essay writing, but I would love to work with children too!
