About Ellen
I am a Philosophy and German student studying at University College London.
I am an English native speaker and have completed A level and 1 year of German at university. I have won several writing competitions and have a passion for literature in both English and German.
I received a grade 9 at English Literature GCSE and an A* at A Level.
I do not have any German-speaking family so I learnt German entirely through the state school system with lots of independent study. As a result, I am confident explaining German language and grammar to a non-native speaker.
I am nineteen and female.

I offer lessons in English Literature and German to students ranging from GCSE to A Level, or equivalent qualifications.
I offer personalised tutorials to meet specific exam board and target grade requirements but all my lessons have a focus on building clarity and understanding for the student.
I use an example based teaching method to remove any confusion surrounding specific subject areas while also providing a clear outline for how students can create their own high level work.
I am happy to mark practise tests and essays during lessons to provide specific feedback.
I have a real passion for both English Literature and German but I remember having to work through all the ambiguity surrounding mark schemes, strategies and techniques when I was in secondary school that often occurs in large class sizes. I am confident that my experience and guidance will help students of all levels to academically improve.
