About Francis
Hi! I've been working in International Education as a programme creator, administrator and lecturer for almost 20 years. I've created and managed a team of lecturers during that time, and we've had thousands of students who have made the leap to higher education in the UK, Australia, Canada and the US.
I received a PhD in Physics from the University of Toronto for work in theoretical solid state physics. Of course, that means being comfortable with physics but also statistics, math and programming.
I'm a very patient person, and a good communicator. I like to focus on conceptual understanding and then translating that into practical application.

I work with a variety of standards-setting groups, and know how to structure lessons to ensure that all the key learning objectives are met.
My lessons build on what we've learned already, as well as your existing knowledge base.
Lessons involve starting with motivation, as well as a contextual appreciation of where a topic fits with the rest of the subject matter as well as its general usefulness. An explanation of the theory, example calculations, and then doing some practice work together. Homework examples would also be a common aspect of our lessons.
I can teach the entire curriculum of high school physics, math and statistics. At the university level, any introductory course in physics, math, statistics, computer science, or business analytics are also areas where I have considerable practical and teaching experience.
