About Marcella
Hi there! My name is Marcella. First and foremost, I am passionate about education - specifically science. I went to UC Santa Cruz where I got an undergraduate degree in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology in 2020. After graduating, I worked in one of the most cutting-edge research labs at UC Berkeley for 2+ years doing biochemistry research. I am now in LA where I will attend UCLA in the fall as a PhD student in Biochemistry.
But most importantly, I know what it is like to be a student. At any age, confidence, and success in academics is a lifelong skill. I want to support children in their journey to love school, and possibly find a passion in science, math, or whatever inspires them.

- I will do an initial intake to see what the student's goals are and what exactly we can focus on
- I do a mix of worksheets and active learning
- At-home (safe) science experiments to connect concepts with hands-on experience.
- One day a week dedicated to review to make sure concepts are understood, and to hone in more in-depth questions.
