About Gregor
Hi, I am Gregor! I am a full-time university tutor for mathematics and theoretical physics with 12 years of experience, more than 300 successful private students and more than 4000 private lessons since 2022.
I started studying theoretical physics and math in 2012, with a lot of curiosity about nature, and soon found interest also in teaching and pedagogy. Since 2014 I've been working as a university tutor while studying for my bachelor's and master's degrees. In 2019 I became a doctorate student and tutoring became part of my profession.
I've always had the most fun with science when talking to interested people and exchanging knowledge, so in 2022 I decided to become a full-time tutor. In my 11 years of tutoring, I've always enjoyed in particular to find explanations and solutions to my students' questions that are adapted to their specific interests, their context and their base knowledge, and that fill the gaps that are sometimes so hard to fill with only lectures and books.
My journey in academia led me deep into fundamental physics and my research and publication about the dynamics of strong electric and magnetic fields (e.g. in high-energy lasers or certain types of stars) has helped me a lot to understand and navigate the wide landscape of theoretical physics in the language of quantum field theory. (In such systems a lot of different concepts become relevant: Electrodynamics, Quantum Mechanics, Statistical Physics, Relativity)

I offer the first 30 minutes free of charge, so we can take the time to discuss any logistical matters in peace. In addition to the hourly paid online tutoring sessions, my offer also includes answering small questions free of charge (which may come up before or after our sessions), for example via WhatsApp.
I hope you will ask me all your questions during our sessions — no matter how small or big — that come up throughout your studies. I will do my best to work through them with you!
I work with a digital pen and whiteboard, where I create our own notes, or, if appropriate, import your materials and supplement them with annotations. After each session, I will send you the whiteboard as a PDF file. I am also happy to provide you with additional individual practice exercises and learning materials.
I tailor my tutoring sessions to your specific questions and needs. The goal is to convey both the technical details and their application within the scientific field that interests you. My teaching techniques are based on examples and practice exercises that I have developed and collected through 12 years of experience as a tutor accompanying university courses for both Bachelor's and Master's students.
