About Anastasia
Hi! I'm Anastasia. I offer online math tutoring to high school and university students.
I have a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin, where I specialized in probability theory and financial math. Throughout the years of studying and doing mathematics, I participated successfully in math olympiads and coached younger students; tutored calculus, probability, and financial math; TA’d for various math courses at UT Austin; and taught computational finance as a lecturer at the University of Alberta. Students from my UofA course consistently rated me 5/5 for providing clear, helpful feedback and creating a supportive environment where they felt comfortable asking questions and sharing ideas.
Mathematics - at its best - is beautiful and is an attempt to understand reality. I've learned a lot about it, and I like to help others learn and make math make sense.

My goal is to help you grasp the "why" behind mathematical concepts – not just memorize them – and become confident and comfortable using them. I will guide you with questions and answer your questions, in a two-way dialogue, to dig deep into the topic you'd like to understand and clear up any confusion.
Past students have told me I'm patient. People often describe me as thoughtful. I'm always learning and I love to help complex topics "click" for people.
