About Jared
I have a PhD (English/Irish Studies) from the University of Otago, and a BA (Honours Class 1 English) from the University of New South Wales.
I have also spent several years working as an NCEA tutor in New Zealand alongside Otago Correctional Facility inmates, ACC/Work Rehab clients, and youth and adult learners.
I have returned home to Sydney after spending 15 years studying and working in New Zealand.
I have extensive experience delivering responsive, effective individual tuition.

I completed my PhD at the University of Otago in 2017. During my studies I tutored in the School of Arts - English and Linguistics/Centre for Irish and Scottish Studies.
Prior to this I spent several years as an adult/youth tutor with Next Step Training (Methodist Mission Southern) and Education and Employment (The Salvation Army Dunedin). I provided academic guidance and support, formal tuition, and job seeking skills, working alongside Otago Correctional Facility inmates, ACC/Work Rehab clients, and youth and adult learners.
I’ve built extensive experience teaching a number of qualifications employing a wide range of learning tools, and have extensive experience delivering responsive classroom-based and individual tuition.
I'm offering one hour, individual lessons, to university students, high-school students of all ages, adult learners, and overseas-born professionals.
