About Luke
I've loved tutoring and mentoring ever since I started as a tutor in high school, and getting to know students and see their progress is a big part of that. My favorite subjects and specialties are engineering courses like math and physics, both high school and college level. I love learning and challenging myself and try to stay well-balanced by teaching myself skills like guitar and speaking Spanish in addition to engineering projects. Every student I've taught is different in their own ways too, and I learn from them even as I teach and find the best way to communicate what I know.

I find the most effective tutoring starts with asking questions to the student to let them discover the answer for themselves. That process can take time but it builds the skillset of breaking complex problems down into manageable pieces and makes students more self-sufficient. I have 8 years of tutoring experience from high school and college and also can provide insight into industry for engineers from the year I worked at Raytheon Technologies. I have an undergraduate B.S. in mechanical engineering and am currently pursuing my PhD, and lessons are for any SAT preparation, high school or college level physics, and any math level up to vector calculus. I can also tutor engineering science classes like Statics and Fluid Mechanics.

Luke is a trustworthy teacher because he goes through the content slow so the student can understand. He also teaches at a nice and patient pace that allows me to learn comfortably and not be afraid to ask questions. He knows his stuff well, which makes it easier to dive into the content at a deeper level for conceptual understanding.
Luke is a great tutor. He has a wide knowledge base and has helped me in many of the classes I've had to take. He can boil complicated concepts down into something that is easily understandable. He is kind in his answers and willing to help just about anyone out.
