About Tavina
I am a Scientist, Entrepreneur, and Artist. I have a background in chemistry, having worked in drug design for a little under 4 years. I have taught middle and high school students math and science. I also teach college and graduate students skills they need to excel as a STEM major and prepare for graduate studies and research careers. I am a creative writer, and published my first book last year! I enjoy traveling, relaxing on the beach, and reading a good book.

I value using non-traditional, active-learning principles in my teaching and tutoring. Not every student learns the same, and I am passionate about helping students increase their own self-awareness in how they best learn. I get to know my student's interests and hobbies, and find creative ways to bring their interests into our sessions to make the subject more relatable. I believe learning can be fun when it is tailored to each students needs which is why I enjoy one-on-one tutoring. I enjoy working with middle, high school, and college students.
