About Emma
I became a teacher because I loved maths and wanted to impart my knowledge with others. I believe maths shouldn't be a subject students dread. I have undertaken various courses to help hone my teaching such as working with students with special needs,reducing maths anxiety, assessment in secondary maths etc. I have worked at an independent school which had varying levels of attainment and developed a strong working relationship with my students through mutual respect and trust. I also arranged extra intervention sessions for students who were struggling with mathematics and physics. I have recently completed my PGCE with high grades and a recommend for QTS. I hVe been trained to teach all learners from 11+

I approach lessons with different types of scaffolding and remove the scaffolding gradually. I have many examples both theoretical and rhetorical. I believe praise encourages learning. A typical lesson can be 45-65 mins. My lessons are for students aged 11+ I have used research from various sources such as Tom Sherrington, Craig Barton and Bernie Westacott.
