# Biology & Chemistry Tutor | GCSE & A-Level | Friendly, Personalised Tuition
I am a qualified secondary science teacher with a strong academic background in Biology and Genetics, and I provide friendly, personalised tuition designed to help students understand science, improve their confidence and achieve their academic goals.
My teaching approach:
I believe students learn best when they understand why something happens rather than simply memorising facts. I adapt every lesson to the individual student, identifying areas of difficulty and building their knowledge step-by-step.
My lessons can include:
* Clear explanations of challenging scientific concepts
* Worked examples and guided practice
* Exam-style questions and detailed feedback
* Retrieval practice and regular knowledge checks
* Developing exam technique and command-word skills
* Identifying and correcting misconceptions
* Revision strategies tailored to the student's needs
* Building confidence and encouraging students to become more independent learners
I use a supportive and encouraging approach, creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
Lesson length:
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although I can adapt the length depending on the student's age, level and individual needs.
My qualifications & experience:
I have a BSc in Medical Genetics from Queen Mary University of London and an MSc in Prenatal Genetics & Fetal Medicine from UCL.
I have also completed a PGCE in Secondary Science at King's College London and have experience teaching Biology and Chemistry across secondary school and sixth-form levels.
Alongside my teaching experience, my scientific background has given me strong knowledge of genetics, molecular biology, human biology and laboratory science.
