About Rebecca
Graduate Oxford (2024) with Masters degree in Chemistry.
Experienced in providing online GCSE chemistry tuition to support and stretch to achieve better results and more confidence in the classroom. I am starting a PhD in Materials Science at Oxford this autumn. I have wide availability until the start of October, thereafter on a limited basis.
I am expecting a first class honours degree and have already achieved 4 A*s at A level (chemistry, physics, maths and further maths) plus grade 9s/A* distinction in the relevant GCSEs/Level 2 Qualifications.
Throughout my education, I have taken personal responsibility for checking that my knowledge has a solid foundation across the entire syllabus.
I also informally mentored GCSE students in chemistry and maths during sixth form. I have also had a role as a student mentor at university, where I worked at the physical science bridging programme for incoming first year students. This involved helping them prepare for their first tutorial work and having a teaching assistant role in departmental classes.
I am very comfortable with explaining difficult concepts after having taken part in the Oxford tutorial system for three years.
I have always helped my younger siblings with school work and I am acutely aware of how patchy knowledge is after missed learning during the pandemic. I currently am helping with A level work.
I have worked in a large variety of people facing roles in the past including as a tour guide, shop assistant, and housekeeping assistant in my local hospital, as well as working as a volunteer for the Riding for the Disabled Association.
