I believe that the most effective learning varies from person to person. My lessons will be individualized sessions that offer a weakness-oriented and pattern-breaking approach aimed at finding the best possible solutions for my students. Each session will be around 1hr long and follow a rough guideline:
1. What? —Identifying the problem (~5-10 mins)
Begin by identifying what the student is struggling with and more importantly, why. —This could be a gap in their understanding, a recurring mistake, or difficulty applying a concept.
(concealed information) —Addressing the weakness (~15-20mins)
Aimed at breaking the problem down into manageable steps to help the student digest. The goal is not just to give them the correct answer, but to help them understand where their thinking went wrong and how to approach similar problems in the future.
(concealed information) —Apply and reinforce (~30-40mins)
The remainder of the lesson is dedicated to targeted practice. Students apply what they have learned to a range of questions and scenarios, allowing for the identification and correction of any recurring patterns in their mistakes
