About Ian
I am a Research Fellow currently writing an academic paper on media coverage as a mediating force on protest behavior. I have a B.S. in Government from St. Lawrence University.
I have worked as a general assignment journalist, Peer-tutor, research assistant, and copy editor. With my broad experiences various style of prose, I offer a one-stop shop for both micro (sentence structure) and macro (thesis formulation/research) writing roadblocks.
In terms of training, I have topical experience in philosophy, computer science, biology, chemistry. and poetry combined with a deep knowledge of International Relations and Comparative Politics.

My philosophy to teaching and tutor is collaborative. I stress my role a conduit for new ideas, generated both by myself and my students. We will all use our respective endowments of experience and knowledge to generate a constructive dialogue about a given topic.
However, focus and dissemination of knowledge is paramount, so open-ended discussions will be stewarded with a set of key-ideas in mind. A crucial culture of exploration and debate will fostered to encourage students to develop critical thinking while absorbing content. For me, a well-informed discussion trumps a dry lecture every time.
