About Nicole
As an accredited secondary school teacher and an experienced microbiologist, I'm passionate to offer professional tutoring to my students and assist them to actualise their potential in science.
Since graduated from the University of Melbourne, I have worked as a microbiologist for 4 years and recently become an accredited secondary school teacher in NSW after successfully completing the education training at Macquarie University. I've taught in two of the most prestigious schools in the country. Many students across various ability levels have found my teaching engaging and caring, and they could actualise their full potential and improve as I guided and challenged their understanding.

Firstly, I'd like to establish a good relationship with my students and understand their learning needs via appropriate methods (e.g. quiz and review of past study). I advocate that learning must be made meaningful to students. So, according to individual situations, I use varied methods (e.g. authentic problems, modelling, role-play and applying multimedia resources) to engage students and guide them to tackle their learning difficulties. I'm also a firm believer of "practice makes permanent", questions and explanation (guided by hints rather than direct answers) will be given so students can consolidate and challenge their knowledge and skills. Furthermore, I'll develop students' techniques for study and exams so they'll become adaptive and competent to the higher level study in future.
