About Joan
I am a native-born English speaker who has a Bachelor of Science degree, a law degree and am TEFL certified. I currently tutor some amazing adults. One lives here in the States and one lives in Turkey! I am a word nerd whose passion is teaching students to enjoy studying and speaking English.

My teaching method is based on the 'guide on the side' rather than being a 'sage on the stage.' With over 10 years of teaching adults to use computers, I've transitioned to teaching English. With the completion of a recent 170-hour TEFL certification course, I focus on student centered learning to meet the learner's objectives and needs.
