About Rachael
I am a Senior in the College of Science at UAH. The foundation of most of my classes is built up from algebra and arithmetic. I have only ever tutored friends and family before this, including my sister who is now going on to be an actuary (this is a job that requires an advanced understanding of mathematical statistics).

I know from experience that mathematical skill depends highly on practice and repetition. I typically work examples together with the student before giving them similar examples to see how much they really understand.
You’re paying for my time, so there’s will be no additional work outside of tutoring hours. I will be active and engage the student, answering questions from various angles until one of them “clicks.”
I have observed memorization, simple timed exercises, and learning by example to be highly effective in both improving understanding and increasing student performance in school. And, of course, positive reinforcement and patience go a long way.
