About Liza
I have worked individually with children with special needs in my work as a child psychologist, and before that also in a school for children with special needs in the Netherlands. I have taught groups of University students in the subject of Developmental psychology and I have worked a lot with groups of adults and teenagers in giving them mindfulness training (stress reduction training). I have experience in teaching piano to beginners and intermediates, with a speciality in helping people to improvise.
I have experience in private tutoring (1-1) in Geography, Reading, Maths and Psychology. But most of all I believe my strength is in combining my passion and experience of working with children (with and without special needs), with my enthusiasm, patience and encouragement, all in a light and fun way.

I am Liza, 30 years old, originally from the Netherlands where I worked as a child psychologist (mainly with children with AD(H)D and Autism). Currently I am living and studying in Ashburton, to become a Tai Chi teacher. My passion and love lies in working with children, helping them to grow and develop into confident and happy human beings. I will do my best to support them in this, with lots of patience and encouragement.
With my background and skills as a University student, I am open to teach all levels (primary, secondary, GCSE, A levels. Subjects I currently teach are English reading, Geography, Maths and Psychology. I am open to consider teaching other subjects as well, as long as it is within my capacities.
I am happy to offer a free first lesson, to meet and see whether I will be the one who can help you or your child to improve!
