About Suraj
Hello I am a recent graduate from Villanova University (School of Business) in the USA currently pursuing a master's here in London at Cass Business School. I have been following the British educational system my whole life, have obtained CIE A-Levels and comprehend how the system works. I am fluent in English (3rd language) and pride myself on my communication skills. I am highly organised, have my lessons meticulously prepared in advance and follow a systematic process to teaching that I modify as per the needs of my student. My system is based around understanding my students, their needs, strengths and weaknesses. This means the first few lessons, I strive to understand my students and where they are, so that I can guide them to where they seek to be. I begin teaching by explaining the importance of the subject and the underlying theories. Once the theories are well understood, practice is key. As such, it is critical that we work through exercises and past exam questions together to apply the theory we have learned, iron out the kinks and also prepare for those few tricky questions that require thinking outside the box. In the past I have also created resources for my students to use, one of which is on my profile here. I also make my books and notes available to them. For eg, please check the resource I have uploaded on efficient calculator usage - (concealed information) I create such resources for my students' benefit. I like to find ways to adapt how I teach to my students' personal interests, tastes and abilities. I take the job of a tutor very seriously, but I also believe teaching and learning is a fun process. I find the one-to-one lessons with my students helps us build an understanding that leads to stimulating lessons. Having lived in four countries, I have gained a lot of knowledge about culture and educational systems and the needs of students in diverse conditions. I am looking for students in A or AS Level Mathematics, Economics and Business Studies. Apart from that, I am looking to help anyone with SAT or GRE preparation and also university admission help for both the USA and the UK (I have experience of applying for the Economics and Management course at Oxford). In my own time, I study for my classes and enjoy cycling, reading and exercising. I am also trying to learn the flow art called Orbiting. I am passionate, hard working and strive for excellence. He has a very clear understanding of difficult and complex concepts and is able to teach them in a very simple and concise way which is very easy to understand.
He has also always been willing to go above and beyond what is expected of him whether this is on an academic, personal or professional level.I was struggling with my A levels Maths and Economics and was looking for a tutor. A friend of mine referred me to Mr. Suraj Poudel. I found him to be an exceptional and well-organized tutor. Every session that I had with him was very productive and I gradually gained confidence in my subject. Mr. Suraj was particularly good at explaining theories and he also provided me with his own notes. He gave me lots of past papers to practise and ensured I knew how to tackle those questions. He even contacted me after the results day to find out how I had got on and asked me if I needed any more assistance applying different universities for my undergraduate programme. I would strongly recommend him!
My grades prior to tutoring from Mr. Suraj Poudel was fairly average. I was a C average student and objectively a lazy student. Maths and Science were subjects I was really interested in but because I wasn't a hard worker I couldn't score my potential. Suraj was pretty hard at first but it gave me the necessary push I needed. Slowly, his method of setting goals proved that i could finish all my courses on time and could score an A. He might be pretty hard at first but you'll gradually understand why. Highly recommended.
