About Sze
I’ve always seen mathematics as more than numbers on a page. For me, the most satisfying part of mathematics is the moment when something that seemed complicated suddenly makes sense. That “lightbulb moment” is exactly what I want to create for my students. I enjoy breaking difficult ideas into simple, logical steps and helping students develop the confidence to tackle problems independently.
As a mathematics graduate from Swansea University and a current MSc Mathematics student, I continue to explore the subject beyond the classroom. My experience teaching in an independent school has taught me that there is no single way to learn mathematics. I aim to make lessons relaxed, engaging and tailored to each student, whether they need help catching up, preparing for exams, or simply want to become more confident and curious about mathematics.

Experienced Mathematics Tutor in Guildford for GCSE, A-Level and IB maths
I am a passionate Mathematics tutor based in Guildford, currently studying for a Master’s degree in Mathematics. I graduated from Swansea University with a degree in Mathematics in 2018 and have since gained teaching experience in an independent school in Cambridge, including experience teaching mathematics and supporting students through their academic studies.
I teach (i)GCSE, A-Level and IB mathematics, adapting lessons to each student's ability, goals and learning style. I believe mathematics is not simply about memorising formulae or carrying out calculations; it is about understanding the logic behind problems and developing the confidence to think independently.
My teaching style is patient, approachable and engaging. I encourage students to ask questions, explore different approaches and learn from mistakes. Having experienced different educational systems myself, I understand that students can learn at different speeds and may need different forms of explanation and support.
Whether you are preparing for an upcoming examination, struggling with a particular topic, or simply looking to strengthen your mathematical understanding, I aim to make mathematics clearer, more accessible and enjoyable.
