About Valeria
I graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a bachelors degree in mathematics education. I tutored college student athletes for over two years on a one to one setting. I also worked with high school students for about a year by providing them math tutoring during class and after school via Zoom. I also provided SAT preparation trough a program called College Spring.
I am currently a high school teacher for LAUSD. I teach Algebra 1 and Geometry. I love helping students succeed and achieve their mathematical goals. I know mathematics may not be every student's favorite subject, but I am always ready to help them understand the content and improve their grades when necessary.

My teaching method is based on the needs of my students. I like to accommodate to their learning styles, that is, if a student is a visual learner, I make sure that I provide enough visuals for them to understand. I also like to look for different ways to explain a problem because not everyone learns the same way.
