About Sharifah
I have taught other people how to read texts and write during my work experience. I also helped others with maths and English questions they have a difficulty with.
I study Business and Management at the University of York. I have achieved an A* and an A in my coursework and an A* in my speaking and listening for my English language GCSE. A grade B in a calculator and a grade c in non-calculator in GCSE.
I am a supportive, friendly, helpful and an ambitious person when it comes to teaching students with different abilities because I want to ensure that they can reach to their target level and tackle difficult topics with confidence. When it comes to teaching, I make sure that I use the right teaching method such as worksheets or activities that are visual and kinesthetic friendly. I also offer different revision resources that are suitable for my tutee's learning needs. I can encourage students to complete their worksheet, revision and activities by making easy and difficult topics fun and excitable for them. I clearly want to know how my tutees learn so I can use a teaching method to make the whole lesson understandable for them. Communication is key to me because I want my tutees to understand that my feedback and open-mindedness can change their attitudes towards learning Functional Skills maths and English topics.
As an open-minded tutor, I want my tutees to achieve and succeed in their ability and I believe they can challenge themselves to answer questions that they found difficult before.

I make sure that the maths and English topics I teach are suitable for my student’s learning technique by teaching them in different methods to see which fit their learning needs. I am passionate to teach students with different abilities and I want to develop an understanding for my students so I can give them the right material for their learning.
