In my sophomore year of college my organic chemistry professor once said to me “to educate is to become educated.” This statement inspires me and is the reason I want to be an educator for the future generation. I strongly believe it is the responsibility of educators to provide students with the knowledge and tools to be successful in life. In particular, I want my students to acquire problem-solving skills which will aid them in their lives as workers, voters, consumers, scientists, and most importantly, global citizens. My teaching philosophy is based on a passion for the subject I am teaching and a belief that education offers a solution to many social and economic problems. Education provides a platform to make informed decisions, synthesize ideas, and critically evaluate relevant issues. To this end, I am dedicated to actively pursuing knowledge and working hard to improve my techniques as a teacher.
