About Rose
I am currently undertaking a master's degree in medieval history at the University of Oxford. I graduated from Oxford with a first-class BA in history in 2019, placing fifth in a cohort of 224. I have won numerous prizes for my academic work, including an undergraduate scholarship, Caroline Kellett Prize and Cheney Prize in Arts and Social Sciences from Wadham College and a Gibbs Book Prize from Oxford History Faculty. I specialise in medieval religious history, and my current research focuses on ideas of martyrdom in early medieval England. I have been tutoring since 2014 and have experience teaching A-level and GCSE history, religious studies and English literature, as well as Oxbridge application coaching and personal statement advice.

I enjoy working with students to find out where their enthusiasm lies—the best marks (especially at A-level) come from passion and genuine engagement with the subject, which often take students beyond the syllabus. While covering all the necessary content, I like to focus on what a student finds particularly compelling—this, in turn, leads to deeper engagement with all aspects of the course.
