About Julianna
As a lover of languages, I started learning Italian at Oxford University, and eventually spent time living in Verona, Italy. There I developed a love for Medieval Italian Literature, and studied this during my time at Oxford, eventually writing a first class dissertation on medieval poets Cavalcanti and Dante.
Having studied Philosophy at University and at an MSc level, I am inspired to bring more people a love and knowledge of this area that makes you think deeply about life and issues we have with it.
English was one of my favourite subjects during school, and was crucial to my Oxford admission. I am happy to help any student wanting to improve their grade and practice for exams.

In English tutoring, typically students are preparing for exams. I use a method I developed when preparing for exams in schools called UMP: Understand, Minimise, Practice. First I work with the student to ensure all the information in the course is understood. Second we work on ways to minimise the information into manageable pieces to write in essays. Thirdly, we work on practice exams to prepare for the real deal.
For students not preparing for exams we will work together to assess what areas you would like to work on, and devise a strategy to confidently develop your work.
As an Italian Medievalist and Philosopher, I am qualified to teach any students interested in these areas. I have previously tutored in Dante's Commedia, reading through the work with students, and can help those interested gain a complex understanding of the Medieval Italian literary world and language.
As a Philosopher at an MSc level I can help students with a variety of issues, such as Epistemology, Metaphysics, Ethics and more. I can help students preparing for Oxbridge admissions in Philosophy.
I have previously tutored English Language to Italian students, Philosophy to A-level students and also those interested in gaining knowledge of Philosophy. I have tutored English Literature to A-level students. I have mentored undergraduate students in Medieval Italian, and had non-university students learn about the Medieval Italian world with me.
My lessons are for anyone at any age who has an interest in Philosophy and Italian literature. For students of English Language and Literature my lessons are for school students who would like to improve in their studies and prepare for exams.
