About Bryony

Hi, I'm Bryony, an English Literature and Language graduate from the University of Oxford (with Academic Scholarship and Nigel Smith prize in English). I have been tutoring and providing academic support to students for over 5 years, ranging from English Lit/Lang Undergraduate and A-level tutoring to Creative Writing sessions to CV help to Oxbridge interview practice. I am incredibly passionate about my subjects and love the opportunity tutoring provides me to share this with students whilst helping them achieve their academic goals.

About the lesson

I have been tutoring in English Literature, Language, and Creative Writing for students 13 years and above since 2018. I have experience tutoring in English Literature and English Language at Undergraduate and A-level, as well as tutoring in Creative Writing, and providing CV writing help and editing. Lessons are typically 60 minutes and are tailored to the individual's objectives i.e. working on exam technique and practising timed responses, going through unseen texts and set texts in more depth, going over essays written in school/tutoring homework, boosting confidence talking about texts, pushing students beyond the curricular (i.e. for Oxbridge applicants). I like to save the last 5-10 minutes of each lesson to quickly explore something beyond the curricular, set homework, and discuss how the student found the session/if they want to focus on something in particular next session. I aim to boost my students' grades through encouraging deeper, genuine interest in the subject, increasing confidence, and bringing my knowledge and expertise to the table.
