About Alice
Hi! My name is Alice, and I am currently completing my DPhil in English at Oxford. Before this, I completed my Master’s in English at the University of Cape Town and my undergraduate degree at New York University.
I have tutored high school and university undergraduate students, and teaching is one of the most fulfilling and enjoyable parts of my life (genuinely!). I love brainstorming fun, engaging lesson plans and seeing students become more capable, confident writers and thinkers.
I have worked with students from an array of backgrounds and walks of life, and I pride myself on my enthusiasm, adaptability, and kindness as a tutor.
Having felt the impact of many wonderful teachers in my own life, I aspire to have a similar impact on those I teach.

Having personally experienced the impact of brilliant teachers in my life, I take tutoring seriously as an opportunity to help students feel more confident, capable, and self-assured. I firmly believe that anyone can be taught to write well and take their critical thinking skills to new heights.
I have been an English Literature tutor for undergraduate and high school students for approximately ten years now, and I pride myself on my creative approaches to teaching. I aim to always be personable, fun, friendly, and supportive, and I take careful, thorough feedback seriously. Kindness and encouragement are the pillars of my teaching style.
I have experience tutoring neurodiverse students, which I find very rewarding, and I have also taught students from a wide array of backgrounds and all walks of life.
