About Samuel
My name is Samuel, and I am half Spanish and half English (hence the interesting surname!). I lived my first years in Spain, but then moved to Dorset (UK) when I was 14. I ended up applying to Oxford and being only the second student from my state school to get in since it opened in 1980, and in my first year of study gained an academic scholarship due to my first year exam results. Unfortunately, the pandemic affected my final two years of university, meaning my research project was cut short, but luckily I am now making up for it by studying a PhD in Biomedical research! Coming from my background, I understand how daunting it can be to aim high academically when everyone around you has different aims in life, but I hope I can help you with whatever your goals are, be it learning Spanish, improving your school grades, or putting together the best application for university possible!

I have been a private tutor since starting university (2017). Most of my experience is in teaching Spanish as a foreign language, but I have also tutored various A-Level students in Biology and Chemistry, as well as GCSE students in Maths. I have also helped people with Oxbridge applications and personal statement writing, since I have worked as an interview helper at Oxford! In our introductory free lesson we will discuss your needs and objectives, and I will structure our lessons around that to what best fits you!
