About Sofia
I have two years of experience in explaining physics and astronomy to GCSE-level students via both online tutoring and as part of a school club.
I am currently a physics undergraduate student at a top UK university, so I feel able to advise on how to prepare for admissions assessments such as the NSAA. Having gone through the UCAS application process relatively recently, I would also be happy to answer any questions about other aspects of the admissions process.
Along with participation in the British Physics Olympiad and the British Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad, I was a medallist in the International Olympiad for Astronomy and Astrophysics 2021, and so I am equipped to help with preparation for such competitions.

I offer online one-to-one tutoring sessions to secondary school students, and can assist both in preparation for school exams (such as GCSEs and A-levels), the BPhO or BAAO olympiads, and university admissions tests such as the NSAA or PAT.
Lessons will be highly personalised to the student and their needs, whilst still adopting a structured approach. A typical lesson length is 1 hour, but the student can choose any lesson length from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours.
Physics is a truly awesome subject, yet it can bring so much stress when it doesn’t quite make sense. I believe that anything can make sense to someone if explained in just the right way for that person, which is why my lessons are highly customised to each individual.

Sofia is a very devoted physicist and has a rare ability to explain physical concepts in a visually engaging and logical form. She is also very enthusiastic. She is experienced in teaching online, providing one-on-one support to a number of GCSE students in her school following the COVID-19 lockdown.
After receiving a Bronze Medal in the International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics 2021, she organised and ran an astrophysics club for younger students in her school, who loyally attended and engaged with weekly sessions.
Sofia is a very friendly, responsible, honest and hard-working person. I know she can provide valuable support as a physics tutor and/or an advisor in the university admissions process, having made a successful Oxbridge application herself.
