About Oscar
I'm a 19 year old student. I truly believe that prioritising your mental health and time management through your studies is one of the most important things you can do. Outside of academics, I’m really into sports and fitness and spending quality time with friends and family. I enjoy going to the gym, hiking, and I rowed for my school. I understand that learning can sometimes feel challenging, but I’m here to help you every step of the way. My goal is to make each lesson enjoyable and engaging while also making sure you build confidence and achieve your goals. I’m not just here to teach; I’m here to support you through your studies, making sure that you leave each session feeling more confident and able to succeed in your exams.

As a tutor, I focus on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment where students feel confident in their abilities. My approach combines clear explanations, practical examples, and active problem-solving to ensure a deep understanding of the material. Having studied these subjects recently myself, I remember what it was like to be in your position, and know this can be a stressful time. Beyond tutoring sessions I am able to provide you with advice on how to effectively plan your approach to balancing each subject, revising and ultimately give you tips on exam technique. I use a variety of teaching techniques including step-by-step explanations, interactive exercises, and using tailored practice questions to help students grasp complex concepts and master the skills needed for exams. Working through the specification of your subject is hugely important, in lessons we will go through the specification and ensure that all weaknesses are found and conquered. I have experience in online tutoring, having tutored 7 students who completed their GCSEs in 2024, all achieving 2+ grades higher than their mock exams. This experience has helped me refine my ability to adapt to different learning styles and effectively engage students using digital tools, ensuring they feel supported and confident in a virtual setting. I have strong academic qualifications, achieving all 8/9s in GCSE (studying all standard subjects as well as further maths) as well as all A*s/As in A-Level Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. I am currently in my first year of my four year Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Bristol.
