About Somsubhra
A PhD in Physics from one of India's premier research institutes, with post-PhD research experience abroad and around 5 years of private tutoring experience. Qualified GATE (AIR 55), IIT-JAM (AIR 35), NET (AIR 35), JEST (AIR 10) and TIFR-GS. Primarily, my research area is Quantum Physics and Statistical Physics. Gold medalist from the University of Calcutta and St Xavier's College. Passed ISC with an aggregate of 98.5% and ICSE with 97.4%. Have experience in tutoring ISC and CBSE Class 12 students. The only reason I could crack these many competitive exams with a decent rank was because I focused on a bottom-to-up approach of building the concepts first before aiming for the tough nuts. And this is the same approach and mindset I would like to instil in my students.

Teaching is my passion and my objective is to make my students fall in love with Physics. I prefer to follow the conventional pen and paper approach, unravelling every step as I teach, and connecting it to the practical world. I do not rely on the "mugging formulae" approach - understanding the concepts and clearing the basics are crucial for me. For me, that's the foundation of whatever you want to pursue. Classes are online and intended for students at the higher secondary and college levels.
Open for both long-term classes where you would like to complete a whole curriculum with me or short-term classes where I can help you with some specific advanced topics in Physics (the latter, more suited for students pursuing Bachelors or Masters).
